Nasceu no Porto em 1950. Professor Emérito da Universidade do Porto, Professor Jubilado da Faculdade de Belas Artes. Doutor em ‘Pintura’, Mestre em ‘Arte Multimédia’ e Licenciado em ‘Artes Plásticas – Pintura’ pela Universidade do Porto — Faculdade de Belas Artes.
Investigador Integrado do i2ADS (Instituto de Investigação em Arte, Design e Sociedade), pertencendo ao seu Conselho Científico.
Coordena o Programa de Investigação ‘Interculturalidade e Sociedade’, integrando o ‘IDENTIDADES_Colectivo de Ação/Investigação’ (ID_CAI).
Artista plástico, com apresentação de seus trabalhos em exposições individuais no Brasil, Cabo Verde, Moçambique e Portugal.
Percurso múltiplo por vários percursos, aparentemente dispersos, mas relacionados por uma atitude transversal de intervenção crítica, contra a discriminação, o racismo e o colonialismo. Forte envolvimento anticolonial em ações interculturais, artísticas e culturais com comunidades em Moçambique, Brasil, Cabo Verde e Portugal.
